Our Children's Future - CMF Public Service Report

The Children's Media Foundation has published a comprehensive, multi-authored report into the future of public service content for children and young people, in response to the failure of Ofcom and the DCMS to significantly address the younger audience when considering public service futures.

The report is free to download. Articles are available separately on our special web pages where the report content was originally compiled.

Children's Media Yearbook

The Children's Media Yearbook 2021 is a digital-only publication available to download for just £10

It's packed with articles and research reflecting on the past year in children's media and the future of kids' and youth content.

The Public Service Debate

Ofcom has now made its recommendations to government about the future for public service media, as initially explored in its Small Screen: Big Debate Report.

CMF has already warned that the report takes insufficient account of young people and their media preferences. This will feature as part of our response to the recommendations which will be developed in line with the ideas expressed in the CMF Public Service Report.

CMF at CMC 2021 Online

CMF was a major presence at  the Children's Media Conference July 5-9 2021, producing the Opening Question Time policy discussion, and a debate on the future of public service content - reflecting our Public Service Media Campaign.

Supporters and patrons of the Foundation were able to apply for a code which provided a 20% discount on the ticket to CMC 2021 Online.

"Children, and the media they use, are frequent topics of public concern and debate. The Children's Media Foundation will stimulate and participate in this debate - across the entire range of media that children experience."

Sir Philip Pullman, Author and Lifetime Patron,

The Children’s Media Foundation (CMF)
