Jamila Metran

Jamila discovered something that would define her career while in the world of TV distribution: how content resonates with audiences worldwide.  Those early days at Portman Film & TV and Fireworks International weren’t just about selling shows – they provided crucial insights into what makes programming succeed across markets.

At ITV, she faced a defining challenge: maintaining one of Britain’s beloved children’s channels despite challenging budget and resource cuts.  Her strategic and collaborative approach kept CITV at the top of commercial ratings.  Later at Sony Pictures Entertainment, she led the team to transform Pop and Tiny Pop into the UK’s most-watched commercial children’s channels, surpassing established competitors.

As executive producer and head buyer, she’s brought numerous series to success, from the enduring appeal of Horrid Henry, The Animated Mr Bean and Pokémon to the ambition scope of Thunderbirds Are Go! Award-winning productions like Bookaboo and Bear Grylls Survival School demonstrate her ability to deliver both public service, creativity and commercial success.

Today, drawing on years of experience, Jamila works with IP owners and studios to identify, develop and craft strategies, ensuring that great storytelling finds its audience in an ever-evolving landscape.
