Lucy Walters

CMF role - Industry Liaison

Lucy is a storyteller, actor, and presenter.

As a storyteller, Lucy writes and performs storytelling shows supporting language development, communication, and play. Her work spans fictional and factual storytelling presenting educational content in a storytelling format. She has performed at literary festivals, museums, and other live events across the UK in addition to creating and presenting content for screen.

Credits include presenting 'Spot’s 40th Anniversary Storytime & Playtime' for Puffin Books; 'Imagine a Story' for Historic Royal Palaces Kensington; and 'Post a Story' for the 70th anniversary of the Cheltenham Literature Festival. Lucy’s new preschool series 'Lucy’s Let’s Tell a Story' will open at The Story Museum in 2024.

Other work includes writing and touring an 'Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland Learning through Stories' exhibition, presenting 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar Storytime & Craft-Along' for the Puffin Festival of Big Dreams, and 'Rosy and Fizz' – a preschool storytelling series for Bogglesox TV. As a voice actor, Lucy’s experience spans animation and narration.

Aside from live events and on camera work, Lucy visits schools devising and delivering story and character development workshops to inspire children to create and tell their own stories. As a volunteer, Lucy supports the work of libraries as a Storyteller in Residence encouraging reading for pleasure and is passionate about how literacy and oracy can be supported through media and arts.

Lucy is represented for performance and voice work by Carey Dodd Associates, school visits by Authors Aloud, and is a member of Equity and Spotlight for her acting work. www.lucywalters.uk.com
