Mario Dubois
Mario Dubois is a visionary leader and the founder and Creative Director of Unstoppable Creative Media Ltd. Additionally, he serves as the Creative Director for ABC of Opera, a children’s education charity, which empowers children through creative storytelling and music. Mario’s commitment to the arts and culture is further demonstrated in his role as a Trustee for Hope Mill Theatre Ltd in Manchester. He also acts as a Committee Member of the RTS Northwest.
Previously, Mario worked at BBC Children’s and Education division as a multi-platform commissioner across all genres and platforms, including iPlayer, TV and Audio, Games and Interactive and Immersive content. He has worked on many preschool and school-age titles and award-winning brands such as Horrible Histories, Operation Ouch, Andy and the Band, Almost Never, The Next Step, Malory Towers, Dodger, Jamie Johnson, Ludus, The Secret Life of Boys, and Silverpoint, Bing, Teletubbies.
Mario has also worked across multiple genres in television, including BBC Entertainment and Music (Dragons’ Den), BBC Arts (Arena and The Late Show), Factual (Chelsea Flower Shows), Audio (Dr Who), and Channel Four (The Word and Dispatches), as well as with several independent Producers. Outside of the BBC, Mario led Midas, the government-funded inward investment agency for Manchester, as the lead television executive, attracting millions of pounds of foreign investment to the region.
Renowned for his strategic thinking and commercial awareness, Mario has proved his ability to develop innovative formats and ideas. He possesses an excellent grasp of new platforms and technologies for young audiences, particularly in social media and digital media, and has been instrumental in establishing and growing businesses. Mario was an early adopter of digital growth strategies and led the way for several brands in delivering cross-platform content.
Mario’s passion for championing under-represented communities, particularly the children’s audience, is evident in his work. He has been instrumental in making their voice a priority in the UK media landscape. As a diverse leader working in senior leadership roles, he actively promotes inclusion in the workplace. Additionally, he is the co-chair for 1000heartsforharry and works with Cardiac Risk in the Young, a charity that delivers free heart screening to young people across North England for those aged 14-35. He is passionate about raising awareness and prevention of cardiac risk in young people.
