Akin Akinsiku

Akin is an award-winning writer, creative director and director, but prefers to frame himself as simply a ‘storyteller’ who works across various platforms.

He began his career art directing Nickelodeon’s TV Channels, winning BAFTAS for his branding and short form work. He then went on to write, direct and produce the three-time BAFTA Nominated TV Series ‘Apple Tree House’ for the BBC. Working in the kids space his clients have included MTV, Sky Kids and The Walt Disney Channels.

Akin’s work is characterised by combining a high level of visual acuity with a powerful empathetic connection with his subjects. He also has a passion engaging with next generation/ up and coming creatives, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Akin is currently a company director at Five Apples Ltd, and Department of Image creative studio.
