Brian Cosgrove Joins CMF as Founder Patron
As the list of our Founder Patrons grows each month, we can announce that legendary animator Brian Cosgrove has signed up in support.
Brian set up the world-famous Cosgrove Hall Films with his partner Mark Hall in Manchester's Chorlton in 1975. Having already had success animating for Rainbow, they went on to create a long list of hugely popular characters and animation classics - including Chorlton and the Wheelies, Danger Mouse, The Wind in the Willows, The BFG and Count Duckula.
Brian was honoured with a Special Award for outstanding creative contribution to the children's television industry at the 2012 Children's BAFTAs. At the time he was praised by many animators as the source of much of the training and inspiration for the UK's animation industry.
Brian has been an enthusiastic supporter of the UK Animation tax incentives campaign - also backed by the Children's Media Foundation - which will see its goals achieved as the new rules come into effect in April.
Brian responded immediately and enthusiastically to the CMF invitation to become a Founder Patron. We are thrilled to have him join Anna Home, Anne Wood, Ant and Dec, Philip Pullman and Russell T Davies, as our 7th high-profile supporter.
