Meetings Meetings

The Children’s Media Foundation has been developing valuable relationships in the last few weeks.

ofcomWe visited Ofcom to help refine their plans for their annual research into parents and children’s media use and attitudes which will be published in October. We also contributed to their thinking on their renewed research on children and Public Service Broadcasting.

Regulator PhonePay Plus asked us to help them spread the news about their complaints service - especially relevant to parents experiencing unexpected charges on their mobiles - and about their recent report, Children as Connected Consumers outlining their plans and priorities for empowering and protecting young people using Premium Rate phone services of any sort.

We also met the BBC Trust to discuss in advance their plans for their review of children’s services. They've now published a public consultation, to which we’d urge everyone to contribute. It’s open until 31st May.

CMF is compiling a comprehensive response, as the BBC is clearly the key media player affecting kids’ lives in the UK.

All our responses to public consultations are published on our website: www.thechildrensmediafoundation.org/action
