Industry Chatshops – Tell Us What You Think
The CMF Industry Liaison working group launch their Chatshop concept…
Many people who support the aims of the Children’s Media Foundation work in the production and broadcasting industry – in film, animation or TV. And while the aims of the CMF are to improve the media lives of child consumers, there are issues faced by production and broadcasting practitioners that influence the quality and nature of the media product that we make. Regulation, working practice, budget restrictions, policy decisions – they all have impacts on the kids’ audience as well as on the people who make content for them. The CMF wants to hear the industry’s views on these and other issues of concern, so we’re inviting interested industry practitioners to regular Chatshops to share their experiences and feed suggestions for action into the CMF Executive and Board.
So if you’re involved with in-house or indie production, distribution, licensing or broadcasting, if you’re a practitioner or executive at any level in animation, live-action drama, documentary or entertainment, and engaged with the pre-school, children’s or teen audience, then we want to hear your opinions. All you have to bring to the party is your commitment to the audience and some enthusiasm to help us get things right for them.
The Chatshop will meet roughly every 6 months. At the moment we’re looking at London but if there are people in other production centres (e.g. Manchester/Cardiff/Glasgow) who would like to get together – then please get in touch and we’ll kickstart something.
If you're interested in taking part in a Chatshop, then please contact Martin Franks or Katie Simmons.
