Monster honours for outstanding service!
We’re very happy to congratulate two people on this New Year’s Honours list, who have been recognised for their contributions to children’s media.
This New Year also saw Michael Acton Smith awarded an OBE for services to the Creative Industries. CEO and founder of Mind Candy, the children’s entertainment company, he is best known for creating the global phenomenon, Moshi Monsters, which won the Interactive Prize in the 2013 Children's BAFTAs.
Professor Sonia Livingstone was also awarded an OBE, for her services to Children and Child Internet Safety. She currently teaches at the London School of Economics and Political Science, as well as directing EU Kids Online and The Class, and is Evidence Champion for the UK’s Council for Child Internet Safety.
