The Children’s Media Yearbook – Launching at the CMC
The 2014 Children's Media Yearbook will launch on 3rd July at the Children's Media Conference in Sheffield. From that date you'll be able to download a PDF for £7.95 or purchase a hard copy for the utterly reasonable charge of £10. If you're a CMF supporter you'll get your PDF free of charge (instructions for that will be sent in the week following 3rd July). And all patrons will receive a printed copy in the post.
Yearbook Editor Lynn Whitaker tells us more...
In 2014 the Yearbook builds on the success of last year's inaugural issue with contributions from key figures and bodies in the children's media industry, policy and research communities. Meaty contributions from the likes of Prof. Sonia Livingstone (LSE), Marie Southgate (OFT), David Austin (BBFC), game design consultant, Mark Sorrell, Julia Posen (Walker Books) - and the diverse voices of parents, content makers and researchers - plus Ofcom, the BBC and Disney - make this a 'must read' publication for anyone interested in issues of quality in children's media. Emerging themes around representation, gender, funding, and regulation (across all media platforms) are addressed - with plenty of thought-provoking and even contentious commentary. Don't miss it!
The gorgeous 2014 issue of the Yearbook will launch at the Children’s Media Conference. Everyone is welcome so just drop in and get together with the CMF executive team, patrons and supporters, as well as the Yearbook editor and contributors, for a glass of bubbly in the Showroom Cinema Café (15 Paternoster Row, Sheffield, S1 2BX) on Thursday 3 July, 4.30-5.10pm. You don't need to be a registered CMC delegate to attend our launch - though all CMF supporters and patrons get a generous 25% discount on registration for the Children’s Media Conference.
