Founder Patron No. 12
Helen McAleer is our latest Founder Patron, and she's not taking a back seat...
Greg Childs, CMF Director, welcomes Helen to the CMF...
We're thrilled to announce that Helen McAleer has joined the CMF as its 12th Founder Patron. Helen has a distinguished history in children’s media, including periods at BBC Worldwide, Random House and Penguin, and more recently as Chief Global Development Officer for the Walker Group.
Helen has not only generously donated to Foundation funds, but she is also giving her time. She has joined the CMF Executive Group to oversee the production of the Children’s Media Yearbook, and work on event development and fundraising initiatives over time.
The CMF depends on our Founder Patrons. Of course their donations are hugely important to us, but their high-level support is also invaluable in getting our activities and aspirations noticed in a wide variety of fields. Helen joins Philip Pullman, Cressida Cowell, Russell T Davies, Brian Cosgrove, Ant and Dec, Anne Wood and Oli Hyatt amongst others – who offer us their support.
By contrast, the Exec Group are our workers “on the ground”, advising on policy, overseeing various activities such as relationships with the research community and the children’s media industry, building the programme of events and offering expert advice on the wide range of topics the CMF is concerned with. Helen, with her extensive experience, is going to be a real asset to us in both roles.
We are open to people who want to contribute in either capacity. Just let us know if you feel you have something to offer:
