Introducing Changes to the CMF Board

Anna Home, Chair of the CMF Board, discusses the latest changes to the team.

As we move into the much-anticipated spring months, we want to take the time to welcome three new members to the Board while bidding farewell to Reg Bailey, Linda James and Maggie Philbin who will be leaving us. Many thanks to them for all their support and encouragement.

On that note, we are excited to introduce Jeanette Steemers, Anne Brogan and Helen McAleer to the board!

Jeanette Steemers is a Professor of Culture Media and Creative Industries at King’s College London. Jeanette, who was previously co-director of research in the school of media arts and design at Westminster University, is a specialist in children’s media research and has been a long time supporter of, and advocate for, quality children’s media. She has published widely on the subject and speaks with authority in a number of public forums. Jeanette has also been a great supporter of the CMF, and her experience with research and the academic community will be invaluable to the board.

Our second new member is Anne Brogan, Joint Managing Director of Kindle Entertainment. Anne’s background is in Children’s Television production, both at the BBC and ITV. Alongside Melanie Stokes, she co-founded Kindle in 2007. Since then, the company has steadily built a reputation for quality drama and entertainment programming, winning many awards and accolades. Anne is a forthright voice in the world of kids' media and will add strength to the CMF’s advocacy role.

Our final new member is Helen McAleer, an IP Publishing and Production consultant. Helen has a background in traditional publishing as Managing Director of Walker Books, later moving into the world of production as MD of Walker Productions. She has wide experience in the areas of rights, licensing and investment. Helen has been a supporter of CMF for some time, and brings a cross-media view which matches the ambition of CMF to cover the whole spectrum of the current kids' media world

We are delighted to have three such distinguished new members, and look forward to working with them.
