This UCL Institute of Education and Children’s Media Foundation public event is intended to discuss and demystify the relationship between personalisation, education and commercialisation.
The UCL Institute of Education is working to address the challenges of personalisation in the children’s publishing and media industry. Children’s publishers need a straightforward means of effectively leveraging personalisation – both economically and educationally. But from May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation will apply throughout the EU (including the UK) with implications for media companies - especially those dealing with children's data.
Do we need a list of required safety measures specific to personalised reading, with examples (perhaps from other sectors) of personal data used in secure and sophisticated ways. Register here and join us to discuss developing a visionary rather than a restrictive guidance around personalisation and data protection.
