CMF Ofcom Consultation Event – Change of Date – 24th January 2018
The CMF event which was to have taken place on 6th February to discuss Ofcom's Review of Children's Content will now take place on 24th January 2018.
The evening event is being brought forward to fit into Ofcom's consultation period, which closes at the end of January. This will be a great chance to make your views known on the Ofcom plans for the Children's Review and to guide their thinking on their new powers of regulation over ITV, Channel 4 and Channel Five. These powers are the result of the amendment to the Digital Economy Act proposed by Baroness Benjamin, which allows Ofcom to decide whether regulation to stimulate new children's content is needed, and what form it should take.
You can be sure the broadcasters will have something to say about regulation, quotas etc. So it's important to have your say too. Join the regulator, industry bodies, and supporters of the amendment in a public meeting to discuss the Ofcom Review.
