Parliamentary Consultation
The Culture Media and Sport Parliamentary Select Commitee is investigating "Government Support for the Creative Industries"
The CMF considers this a key area which will affect children's media choices in the future. We believe in a well-supported media industry. We made representations to the Committee to back the animation tax relief (coming in the next budget) and to propose that it be extended in future to also encompass live-action children's programme production.
We also commented on the need for more support at the BFI for the development, marketing and distribution of children's and family film, and once again called for consideration to be given to a Lottery-financed fund for commissioning of UK-based children's drama, factual and entertainment content.
The evidence submitted has been published by the Select Commitee.
Meanwhile all the public consultation responses made during the last 12 months, on a variety of issues, are now available to download on our Action page on the CMF website.
