The three-year pilot Young Audiences Content Fund has concluded and its “end of term” report has been written. An extensive review of everything the Fund achieved and an examination of its organisation and methods, the Report is invaluable evidence for consideration of the future of public service media in the UK – particularly for young people who are deserting traditional channels in their droves.
Packed with data on the economic, social and regional effects of the Fund and the reach, range and effectiveness of the content part-financed by it, along with the ideas generated by its development support activity, this is one of the most comprehensive studies ever made into the power of public service funding to transform the lives of young people.
It will inform thinking on contestable funding and the entire future of public service media in the UK – particularly for young people, as the government prepares the Media Bill for presentation to Parliament.
This CMF event – part of the CMF’s Future of Public Service Media series – outlines the key findings in the Report and offers expert industry and policy speakers the opportunity to react and consider the future the Report suggests.
