GuestFrank’s article made me think again about the importance of diversity in storytelling. We all seem to have grasped the importance of biodiversity in nature (although we are still failing to stop the wholesale destruction of biodiverse habitats) and that analogy works for creativity. We need that diverse ‘habitat’ in the UK’s production sector to maintain a healthy creative media sector. The challenge for Ofcom and the government is how to create a new PSM framework that will protect and nurture that habitat.
